Who We Are

303 Mushroom Company was created in 2023 with the intention of sustainably cultivating delicious gourmet mushrooms for the greater Northeast Ohio region. Grown indoors under carefully controlled conditions on my farm in Streetsboro, Ohio we are able to grow a variety of mushroom strains including oyster, chestnuts, pioppino, shiitake, and lion’s mane mushrooms under controlled conditions to provide the highest quality, sustainably grown product.

Our mushroom strains provide a tasty alternative to button mushrooms, and pair well with most foods to greatly enhance their savory flavor. These mushrooms can be cooked and eaten, or cooked and dried for later use in any dish, and they also provide a tasty alternative replacement for many types of meat and seafood products. Additionally, there has been early research documenting the medicinal benefits of mushrooms for inflammation reduction, immune system enhancement, and increased antioxidant activity to name a few. Mushrooms can provide substantial levels of vitamin D2 to keep bones and muscles working properly, and vitamin B6 for nervous system support.

Mushrooms belong to the fungus family, and are incredible to watch grow. Our mushrooms are grown on only wood based products, but can also be grown on many other media such as coffee grounds, straw, cardboard, and other plant based husks and grains.  Unlike wild mushrooms, my mushrooms are grown indoors under carefully controlled conditions that can be replicated year round to provide a consistent product. The ability of the mushroom to consume many materials with a low amount of energy during its life cycle, then return the substrate to the earth as compost makes it the ultimate in sustainable products.
