Trumpet

The King Trumpet Oyster lives up to its name, and typically grows to be 6 – 8” tall with a large cap, and very meaty and dense structure.  It exhibits little flavor when raw, but gains a slightly sweet and buttery flavor when cooked. Its dense structure makes it an excellent meat replacement. Because of the meaty texture and size, this mushroom can be easily sliced and pan seared for a crispy finish. It can be marinated and cooked on the grill to achieve a savory flavor as a compliment to any dish.
